EDUCATIONAL FILM SHINES LIGHT ON THE BEAUTY OF BLACK CULTURE & ARCHITECTURE
MIAMI, FL - The Intention of Design - Building a Legacy produced by The Beautiful Works, Inc., in association with Conceptual Reality Media Group, shines a light on a Black architect’s purposeful manifestation of art, culture, and beauty in the heart of Liberty City, an underserved Black community in Miami, Florida. This educational and promotional film intends to enlighten the world about the evolution of a beloved Black-owned building, but not just any building, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Office Plaza.
Masterfully conceptualized by architect Ronald E. Frazier, and his architectural firm, Ronald E. Frazier & Associates, the MLK Office Plaza as it is affectionately known, is an ode to both African and Black culture. Boasting a majestic display of shapes, colors, patterns, and materials meticulously purposed to tell a story of the plight and progress of Black people and the all-Black design team charged with creating it. Aesthetically rich in symbolism, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Office Plaza is an architectural work of art for generations to come.
The extended trailer provides a glimpse of Ron Frazier’s story depicting how a series of intentional choices; birthed from pain and paved in nobility, perseverance, and a championing spirit; remained committed to leveling the playing field and closing the gap that economic disparities often stretch vast and wide. In so doing, the film will serve as a tool to inspire youth with a culturally rich, relevant story of heritage, and historical significance to the Black community. The Beautiful Works' vision is to create space and dialogue to disperse knowledge that offers a fresh perspective on Black culture and identity, advances equity, strengthens personal development, and creates self-sufficiency and sustainability. The underlying symbolism in the film serves as a reminder to all humanity metaphorically, that as walking buildings, the power of choice becomes a tool to design the foundation future legacies are built.
